Irwin Mitchell real estate partner Rob Thompson will succeed Jon Vivian as head of the firm’s London real estate team on 1 May. He specialises in investment and development work and complex corporate real estate and finance transactions.

Thompson said he would continue to work closely with key clients, while taking on his additional responsibilities.
Irwin Mitchell has made a series of strategic hires into its commercial arm over the last 12 months: DLA Piper Birmingham managing partner Chris Rawstron as head of its business legal services team in the city, the appointment of Brown Rudnick’s intellectual property head Georgie Collins, and the appointment of Pinsent Masons’ former dispute resolution and litigation head Nigel Kissack as its head of commercial litigation after a two-year recruitment drive.
