Tech firms leased 91% more central London office space last year than in 2012. Technology, media and telecoms firms rented 4.4 million square feet last year, up from 2.3 million in 2012, thanks in part to high-profile deals from Google Inc and Amazon Inc. which unveiled office projects in Kings Cross and Holborn respectively.
Those areas aren’t known as tech hubs, but those developments show how London’s tech sector is maturing, and migrating.
Aside from the prospect of growing their own tenants, landlords hope that hosting an accelerator could pay off by attracting larger companies.
